great idea! I will definitely use it for a usual picnic with my friends. these little things are important, though, not so many of us realize it in every day life. this set is quiet pretty and also makes a good saving. 🙂
I really like this idea, birch wood is nice and as it says, compostable. I dislike how people purchase plastic cutlery in the masses for camping trips and such, too lazy to just rinse them off and reuse. I also came across corn starch-made cutlery, similar idea, also great.

Have you considered using glass straws? They’re super classy and toxin free. I’ve seen a few brands out there. my favorite is simply straws, i love the travel case each straw comes with http://bit.ly/simplystraws
